My Process

My process lives at the intersection of creativity, operational design, and political awareness. It’s informed by a deep understanding of systemic forces like racism, sexism, and capitalism, which guide my choices in both language and imagery. I adapt tone to connect across diverse audiences and intentionally center people who are often underrepresented in visual storytelling, ensuring that a community’s full experience is reflected. Every project begins with deep listening and research, moves through intentional design and iteration, and ends with deliverables that balance cultural accuracy, clarity, and visual impact.

This is the most vital step. It’s where I begin to truly understand the story I’ve been entrusted to tell. I listen deeply, not just to what’s said, but to how it’s said. I study the tone, language, and nuance, tuning into what matters most to the client. This is where I begin to see the world through someone else’s eyes and honor the responsibility of holding their story with care.

Listen

Once I’ve gathered the foundational pieces, I dive in. I immerse myself in the client’s world, learning the vocabulary, the community context, the cultural frameworks. I study the relevant landscape until I feel fluent in their niche, allowing me to build with integrity and accuracy.

Research

Here’s where imagination takes root. With context and clarity in place, I start to synthesize the story’s essence into visual and conceptual form. Colors, shapes, movement, and sound become vehicles for meaning. I allow creativity to flow as I map ideas into structure, shaping a narrative world that feels both intuitive and inspired.

Conceptualize

From mind to matter – I translate the vision into mock-ups, templates, graphics, and storyboards. I bring my concepts into the tangible realm, so the client can see, hear, and experience their story coming to life.

Build

This step is just as crucial as the first. After presenting initial drafts, I create space for honest feedback. I listen again, this time to reflections, adjustments, and clarifying insights. Then I return to the work, fine-tune with intention, and prepare it for final delivery.

Refine

Deliver

The finish line. The moment a vision becomes reality. Seeing a client’s story reflected clearly is always an honor. This isn’t just about a final product; it’s about co-writing something beautiful, on purpose.
